Bunches is one of the restaurants we call on for our business catering. Bunches consistently creates remarkably tasty lunches using high quality ingredients. In sandwiches for example, they use wholesome bread, fresh veggies, and a large selection of yummy filling. Their vegetarian food is popular. I love their veggie soup. They also make a zesty curry based soup that often leads to a second helping. Bunches’ prices are a slightly on the higher end of the competitive scale but so is their product.‎

Great little place to take out or eat in, we love the “green” sandwich; avocado, pea sprouts, lettuce, cucumbers and cream cheese = delicious! Clean place and friendly staff. ..

We all know why the chicken crossed the road. But why do they get up so damn early? So your eggs are fresh – every day – that’s why.For breakfast, take two of those eggs (three! for an omelette), then add bacon (the good kind), ham, sausage, or OUR personal favorite – our signature Montreal smoked meat.

Expect a generous portion of our inhouse panfries and some toast. Want more? Then it’s omelette time. Big, loaded and tasty. You’ll need to kick back with an extra coffee after one of these. Can you say hollandaise? Easier than I can spell it, I bet. So have a Benny, or go totally nuts – have the Montreal Benny.

Did someone say burgers? As in twenty different burgers? Try the Manilow . . Barry, being one of the cheesiest singers of all time, gets our ultimate cheese burger named after him.

Venture past Kelowna’s The Grateful Fed Bar & Grill any Tuesday through Saturday night and you might think you’ve stumbled upon a street festival. In among the hordes of people gathered in front of and inside the Bernard Avenue restaurant, there will inevitably be a juggler or two, people spinning poi, and, of course, a live band or DJ cranking out the tunes as a backdrop to it all.

The music-themed ‘psyche deli’, as it’s been dubbed, has been offering live entertainment five nights a week for the past two of its three-and-a-half years, making it quite the main street hub most nights. One never knows what to expect from one night to the next – from hip hop to reggae, house music to folk, with the occasional belly dancing event thrown in for good measure (see – thegratefulfed.ca – for a schedule). It’s become a favourite for the art set, modern day and old-fashioned hippies, travellers, the alternative crowd and punks. “Sometimes you can see this mix of people sitting together – a trades guy next to a mohawk next to someone with dreadlocks. It’s rare to see these people all in one room,” said Ryan Abougoush, owner Kamel Abougoush’s son and business partner. It is he who organizes the evening lineup, which runs from about 8:30 p.m. to midnight.

The music theme started with a collection of old promotional posters and record jackets adorning the walls, of classic rock artists from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Everyone, from Elvis Presley to the restaurant’s namesake, The Grateful Dead, is there. Under the glass that covers every table is a collection of rock ‘n roll memorabilia, from handbills to concert tickets, with pictures of customers – famous or not – also thrown into the mix.

It wasn’t long after opening that The Fed started receiving donations of more posters, record jackets, promotional pictures and concert tickets. “It’s become a community thing”, Ryan told eVentLife during a conversation this week. “I think it gives them a certain feeling of ownership.” The collection has grown to include some hometown talent, including local bands Ricky and the Blue Cats, the Zamboni Brothers and Sleddogs. And they’re just some of the up-and-coming talent who have played the place.

This is definitely a restaurant for those on a tight budget. It was full of young folks that likely don’t have alot of money. The portions are large (lots of rice) but if you are looking for a great tasting meal, look elsewhere. The service is fantastic – very friendly and cheery staff but the food is just OK. We ordered the thai chicken curry which my husband liked, won ton soup (which was the best dish in my opinion), sweet and sour chicken (not recommended) and spring rolls (ok). It’s a bit of an odd mix of thai, chinese, vietnamese and other asian countries. There didn’t appear to be any air conditioning which was interesting for a 35° day in Kelowna. We went bc of the high rating on tripadvisor but unfortunately, I wouldn’t return when in Kelowna.

ad Mango’s has excellent food for really cheap. It is mostly Asian cuisine though they have inexpensive breakfasts as well. The lady who runs it is really helpful in picking what you would like to have so that makes up for the lack of familiarity with the menu.

While the decor leaves a bit to be desired the food and the people who run the Mad Mango Cafe are absolutely wonderful. There’s a great variety of choices ranging from salad rolls to Thai curries and some western dishes too. Prices are very, very reasonable, service is friendly and quick. Highly recommended by this traveller.

One of my favorite places to go for a quick lunch in downtown Kelowna is ‘ Mad Mango Cafe.’ Although I like going to Mad Mango Cafe for lunch, it opens at 7.00 am and serves some good breakfast all day long. Mad Mango Café is not a fancy upscale café but the food served is definitely good. They have variety of Soups and Sandwiches, Salad Rolls, Spring Rolls and Rice dishes(like Sweet and Sour Chicken rice, Curry Lamb rice, Curry Prawns Rice).

Everything at Mad Mango Café is reasonably priced ranging from $2.50 to $7.00. I usually order curry chicken bowl which is served with rice. You can also enjoy it with Malaysian Pancake (Roti/Prata) which is fried but delicious.

If you are in a hurry then grab Salad Rolls (Chicken, Seafood and Vegetarian) priced at $4.00.

Located on Bernard Ave. in downtown Kelowna, the Mad Mango Cafe drew me in with its wacky name and the lure of a mango milkshake. Once inside, it had the appearance of a regular greasy coffee shop/breakfast spot, except for the crazy, Indonesian/East Asian inspired menu. I had to try the Indonesian pancakes, which were thin like a crepe but flakier. They were topped with melon and strawberries and were an enjoyable breakfast, especially for fewer than 4 bucks. The mango milkshake was also excellent and would be a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. The service was exceptionally fast and friendly and my coffee was constantly refilled. I also noticed the staff was on a first name basis with many of the regulars that kept coming in, which was a nice touch. After all was said and done, my breakfast of Indonesian pancakes, coffee and a mango milkshake was under 10 dollars and was a great start to my day.

Mad Mango Cafe is a small cafe with a limited number of tables. We were there for breakfast at about 9am on a Saturday morning and, although there were a number of tables available, they were all for 4 and there was 5 of us. Much to one of the servers apparent frustration, we tried a couple combinations of seating with additional chairs or tables. The server was not happy with us and made this quite clear. But once we got settled the service became friendlier.
I had a simple egg, toast and hashbrowns breakfast and it was pretty good. The eggs were done over easy and just how I like them but the hashbrowns were a little dry and may have been past their prime. Although most of the meals are pretty simple and what you would find at almost any diner, the prices are really good. My breakfast with coffee was $7.50.
If you are looking for a quick diner to grab a reasonable breakfast at, I would recommend Mad Mango Cafe.
